Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategies used by Islamic Education (PAI) teachers in fostering religious moderation among secondary school students through an in-depth review of relevant literature. A qualitative approach with a library research method was employed to examine concepts and instructional strategies related to religious moderation based on theoretical and empirical sources. The findings indicate that religious moderation is an essential value that must be systematically integrated into Islamic Education learning. PAI teachers play a crucial role in cultivating moderation through exemplary behavior, inclusive communication, and the creation of safe dialogic spaces. Dialogic and participatory learning approaches are shown to be more effective than one-way instructional methods. The success of fostering religious moderation is also influenced by teachers’ ability to manage  student diversity and by supportive school culture. Overall, this study highlights that strategies to promote religious moderation require a continuos, humanistic, and contextual pedagogical process aimed at shaping a tolerant and civilized younger generation.
